Amazon Friendly
Minerva Hackathon (Finalist)

Minerva Hackathon was co-hosted by GitHub and Minerva. It was a weekend-long hackathon aimed at challenging individuals to address the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

I led a team of 4 to create a chrome extension that highlights the carbon footprint of purchases made on Amazon and nudges Amazon customers towards eco-friendly products with a lower carbon footprint. During the hackathon, we interviewed participants about their online spending habits. We realised that while most consumers want to be environmentally-friendly, there is a lack of impact indicators and they are too lazy to search for alternatives. Our solution highlights environmental impact to consumers and make it convenient to look for alternatives.

"Ideas are responsible for the progression and prosperity of humans – without them we would still be living in prehistoric times. No idea is too small, and all sorts of ideas have potential to change the world as we know it for the better." - Richard Branson
